Missing teeth can lead to additional dental woes such as:

  • Malocclusion by migration of adjacent and opposing teeth which might further create interferences and disturb the occluso-muscular harmony creating attrition or headaches
  • Loss of opposing unsupported teeth
  • Difficulty in maintaining oral hygiene
  • Change in speech
  • Changes in smile and profile and
  • Compromised chewing impacting overall health.

Replacement of teeth helps keep teeth properly aligned and makes it easier to maintain oral hygiene.

Advances in dentistry have made it possible to fill the spaces with various options that are functional and attractive than teeth they have replaces such as

Implants-

An implant is usually the preferred option for replacing a single or multiple teeth. Dental implants provide permanent replacements for teeth with strength and stability of the mouth, as well as help to stimulate and maintain jaw bone, preventing bone loss and helping to support facial features. Placing an implant requires careful preparation to assess the amount of bone where the implant will be placed to make sure that there will be adequate support for the implanted tooth.

Implants can be used for:

  • Single tooth replacement
  • Multiple teeth replacement
  • Full mouth rehabilitation
  • Implant supported dentures

Bridges-

A bridge – which consists of artificial teeth fused to a metal frame – is a good option for replacing missing natural teeth when the bone is not adequate for implant placement or other constraints. The frame is cemented to supports that have to be reduced to a miniature form and replaced by crowns.
Getting a bridge is shorter process than getting an implant, but still requires several visits.

We offer three types of bridges based on material:

  • Metal bridge
  • Porcelain fused to metal bridge
  • Zirconia (metal free) bridge

Crown or caps-

A crown is basically a cap for a damaged tooth. It is given to strengthen the remaining tooth structure. The tooth may have been damaged by decay, severely worn down, cracked or have a huge previous restoration that has fractured. Root canal teeth are also crowned if sufficient tooth is missing. A crown can restore tooth to optimum function, appearance and durability.

Different types of crowns available are:

  • Metal crown
  • Porcelain fused to metal crown
  • Metal free (Zirconia and EMAX) crown

Onlays-

They are major single tooth restoration options used for filling larger are of decay where filling would not work. The onlay covers the cusp of the tooth without interfering with the adjacent periodontal tissues, and not compromising much tooth structure. They are the preferred option for root canal treated tooth and fractured teeth.
They satisfy both functional and aesthetic demands.

It can be fabricated in ceramic or in composite

  • Dentures (complete or partial)

For patients who cannot or do not wish to undergo surgical intervention, removable dentures are an alternative for replacing missing teeth. If you properly maintain your dentures they will appear natural and provide perfect smile. Additionally, dentures help strengthen muscles controlling your expressions that require the support of your teeth, rid you of pronunciation problems caused by missing teeth and aid in chewing.
